Last Friday night David and I decided we needed a date night. We used to have date night every Friday night, but since Sadie was born they've kinda been few and far between, you all know how it is! So my mother-in-law said she would babysit Sadie for us. Can I tell you how hard it was for me to leave her? I started crying before we even walked out the door! I felt like I was abandoning her or something. I cried half way to the restaurant. David almost turned around so we could come back home, but he didn't. I told him I could handle it, it's just hard when I'm used to being with her every second of my day. Anyway, after the tears subsided David and I had a really great time. We went out to dinner and then to the Shark Reef down at Mandalay Bay. It was really nice to have "us" time for a change and enjoy each other's company. It was hard for me to leave Carter at first too! Now I LOVE date night! It is so important. It gets easier. The first time we left Carter overnight we were gone for a week, I was so brave, but it was really hard.
The first time is hard, but it gets MUCH easier. Almost too easy sometimes. ;) Good for you though. Getting out is so good for you.
Oh boy! I know exactly how you feel. The first time away from Kayden was when he was almost a year old and it was for a couple of days. Yeah, that was hard!
It will get a little easier the older they get. We went to the shark reef when we lived in Vegas. I actually enjoyed it very much. I am sure you had time to relax and all was well when you got back to Sadie
How much fun I love date nights I hope RJ and I can find time for dates once COlton comes... So sad we didn't see you at graduation I was so ready to be done though after all those picturs so I was a little out of it, RJ little sister Megan graduated, I wonder if she knew your brother.
That's so sad you cried. I don't have kids yet but I'm sure I'll be the same way. Glad you were able to get out though and hey if you ever want to go on a group date give Aaron and I a call we're in town now. Take care.
