California Adventure

This past weekend we took Sadie on her first REAL trip out of town (Caliente doesn't really count!=) We decided to take a little family vacation to California. We were a little worried about the drive because Sadie does not like her car seat, those of you who have ridden in a car with a screaming baby are well aware of our trepidation! We left Thursday afternoon and Sadie did surprisingly well. We stopped a couple times to feed her and let her stretch and she slept the last leg of the trip, which was nice. Friday morning we took her to the San Diego Zoo. She was so fun! She couldn't figure out which was more interesting, the people or the animals! lol! She liked the tiny monkeys and the big cats. When we got to the Mountain Lions as soon as one of them caught sight of Sadie the cat would not take her eyes off of her. She started out sitting beside a tree and then came right up to the fence and started pacing back in forth in front of us, stalking Sadie. It really freaked me out! Sadie thought it was funny though, she was just as mesmerized by it as it was by her!

Sadie also had her first trip to the beach this weekend and she HATED it! She loved watching the waves and looking at the water, but as soon as I put her feet down on the sand she started crying, and then when the water came up over her feet she started SCREAMING! So she didn't like the feel of the sand between her toes and she didn't like the water, so it was definitely a no go for her. Needless to say, we didn't stay at the beach for very long! David went in the water for a little bit and Sadie and I hung out on the beach. (The water was too cold for me, I'm a wuss)
