Ok, as if teething wasn't enough! Thursday Sadie was really stuffy and wheezing really bad. Her doctor told us that she had RSV, bronchiolitis, or para-influenza (forgive my spelling, I don't feel like looking them up!) They didn't do any tests on her or anything and looking back I probably should have been more proactive and asked them to do some. (Hindsight is 20/20 right?) So they give us a nebulizer and send us on our way. When we got home David and my dad gave Sadie a blessing. We gave her the breathing treatments religiously, every 4 hours. She responded well the first 3 treatments and come 1 am she's still wheezing; 5 am treatment, she's wheezing really bad and she's listless. I'm talking I laid her down on the bed and she just laid there and stared at me, not moving at all. Something is wrong. She was really struggling to breathe. David had already left for work so I called my mom (thank goodness for parents that live close-by) and we took her to the emergency room. Luckily our past E.R. experiences weren't repeated and we didn't have to wait endless hours to get seen by a doctor. They hooked her up to a machine that measured her heartbeat and oxygen levels. Her oxygen levels were down and her heartbeat was above 180. SO scary. I've never prayed so hard in my entire life, I felt totally helpless. They tested her for RSV and took X-rays of her lungs. No RSV, but her there was a lot of inflammation in her lungs. They gave her a breathing treatment and she responded ok, and was breathing a little easier, but was still wheezing. The Dr. came and talked to me and I assaulted him with questions (I"m the type of person who has to know EVERYTHING that is going on, especially when it comes to my baby.) He said that if her oxygen level didn't get up to 94% and stay there or above they were going to send her to Summerlin and admit her to the hospital. They gave her some oral steroids (for the inflammation in her lungs) and another breathing treatment. Then she started to turn around, her oxygen level went up and stayed around 96% and she started wanting to crawl around and be a normal 10 month old! Relief washed over me, she was going to be ok! The Dr. said that he thought she was doing well enough to go home, but called her pediatrician to make sure. The pediatrician wanted her to be seen right away, so we headed over the pediatrician's office. She said to keep an eye her but that she thought we were ok to take her home. So 7 hours later we took Sadie home.
She's doing a lot better, thank goodness. She's sleeping in our room and probably will for the next week or so because I am a worry wart and have to check on her constantly.
I don't think anything can prepare you for being a parent, it's the most wonderful thing, but the most scary thing as well. I can't imagine if she had made a turn for the worse, I love her more than words can express, and I don't know what I would have done. I am SO thankful for the priesthood and for a Heavenly Father who is mindful of our daughter and our family and is watching over and protecting us. I am so grateful for the gospel in our lives and for a husband who is worthy to exercise his priesthood in our home. I have been so blessed in my life and feel that I take it for granted sometimes. It's sad to me that things like this have to happen for me to take a step back and see how much I have and how much my Heavenly Father has blessed me throughout my life.

Being a Mom is so scarry! It gives you a new appreciation for your Mom and you wonder how she always knew just what to do!
Carter was like that aat 2 months old! I was terified! He was so little and just struggling to breath.
I hope she gets better soon!
Amber you are a beautiful person. You post really made me cry when you beared your testimony at the end. Thanks for sharing. I am glad that she is doing better. You are right to ask questions and to keep an eye on her. It is better to be too concerned then not enough. As far as being scared for your children...I dont think that ever leaves. Something that I have been thinking on latley too. I just hope my kids life experiences, and I guess what I teach them too allow them too keep enduring in this life. When times get hard.
Oh how scary! Poor thing! I'm glad to hear that she is doing better. Keep us posted.
I'm so glad she's doing better. I can't even imagine what you two were going through! Poor Sadie and poor mommy. If you need anything give me a call.
I am glad to hear that she is alright. Jackson had bronchiolitis in January. it is scary stuff. it is so sad to see your little one have breathing treatments. It doesn't help that they called both of us in nursery when we have little ones especailly when it is the flu season. i don't like having Hunter in there. Well again i am glad to hear that everything is alright. talk to you later
I think when something is wrong with one of your children it is the scariest thing ever. I'm so glad everything turned out ok!
Did you take her to Centennial Hospital? Just wondering because I have heard from a few Doctors... even one who works at Centennial Hills that Summerlin or Sunrise are the best places to take kids. They have all the Peds ER stuff.
Wow that is really scary. I am so glad that everything worked out the way it did and she's now at home with you guys.
I love your new family picture!!
Wow, I am so glad that she is doing better. And I compleletly understand about the worrying, I am the same way.
